I am currently sitting in a cute little Mexican bistro/ cafe in Jesus, Ibiza called El Deseo (meaning desire in english :-), that I only just discovered a couple of days ago.
As I am such a Mexican food maniac, I have been back every morning for a mouth watering, energising Acai based smoothie I have created here!
As I have been to Ibiza more than a dozen times, each year brings more places to indulge in delicious food choices; from cafes to cozy places tucked away on the beach, the choices are endless on this beautiful island!
A place very close to my heart, where I walked down the aisle 2 years ago at Atzaro, and fall in love with even more each time by discovering more little hidden gems.
Here is my Ibiza food guide that offers fresh, delicious and healthy options!
Healthy cafe’s
Wild beets: Tucked away in the quaint neighbourhood of Santa Gertrudis. a suburbia style neighbourhood with an ibiza twist, comes Wild beets, a cool organic, plant based healthy hotspot with fresh smoothies, savoury vegan dishes, and cold pressed juices to go. You can sit on the comfy patio tocatch some rays while sipping on your juice, or get it to go. The food is beautifully presented, and tastes as good as it looks, while leaving you feeling very satisfied and super energised.
La veranda at Atzaro: La veranda at Atzaro is set outside on the terrace of the stunning luxurious hotel/ spa. The ultimate oasis that combines, beautiful surroundings of greenery, palm trees, and stunning sunsets. The mediterranean healthy menu concept is light, fresh and full of delicious flavours. Mouth watering dishes and Ayurvedic inspired choices all created by the amazing chef Lucia Ferrer’s.
Aubergine: is the new healthy haunt with its motto “from farm to table”, that is apart of the Atzaro group. As soon as you step in to the lush stylish space, you feel like you are in some kind of enchanted garden, that literally exudes whole organic goodness, that is in the heart of Santa Gertrudis. From a farm to fork kind of seasonal menu includes sumptuous salads , small sharing plates, savoury mains and kids meals. The Wine is organic and water is purified onsite via a hi-tech osmosis system, yes please to that!
El deseo: I have been to this place twice in the past 24 hours, not only is it minutes from where I am staying in Jesus, ibiza, but it also offers a delicious selection of Mexican nibbles, from tasty tacos, to mouth watering nachos, and deluxe salads, not to mention fresh smoothies and juices! A cool fun vibe, that is perfect to come anytime of the day if you prefer something a little more low-key and casual.
Beach views
Amante beach: Located near Cala longa and Santa Eularia is Amante beach club, which is surround by rocky cliffs, a pebbled beach, and breath taking views of the Mediterranean sea, over 3 levels. The cuisine is Spanish meets mediterranean influence, which is always organic or locally sourced. I love spending a day here with a bed, having a long lazy lunch with the stunning views of the ocean, than heading back to my bed to digest and simply breathe in the meditative atmosphere.
El Chiringhito: Surrounded by Es Cavallet’s sand dunes, salty plains, and turquoise, deep blue water, is this boho chic restaurant with beach front views. Offering a mix of Italian, modern mediterranean, meets Asian influence cuisine, a wide choice for everyones taste buds, not to mention an incredible long wine list!
